Disappointment. The first, and perhaps the only word that arouses listening to the third album by Múm is this: disappointment. Something is jammed in the magic formula discovered by the Icelandic quartet (indeed, the trio now, after the defection of Gyda Valtýsdottir): a formula that included soft melodies whispered, the childish voice and dreamlike Kristin Valtýsdottir, a mix of electronic glitches, delicate folk arrangements and especially involved the creation of spectral atmospheres, sweet and melancholy. Like all groups in Iceland, the Múm have always drawn inspiration from their land, from the solitude and silence of their glacial landscapes, succeeding in the best cases (see Sigur Rós) to recreate in their music the charm of nature.
