My favorite WASP album of all time. Am not a huge WASP fan but Blackie Lawless, INC have some good stuff. This album is in my favorite hard rock/ heavy metal classic from the early 90's. "The Titanic Overture" is one of my favorite metal instrumental hits of all time! It is truly 'titanic'. "The Invisible Boy" is amazing in that you feel the "whip...across my back..." when the chorus breaks out in the song and you hear the whip cracking. A song that blends good rock guitar with whips...can't go wrong with that. "Arena of Pleasure" with it's heavy bass and drum lines is a good blend of WASP vocals and heaviness. "The Gypsy Meets the Boy" and "Docter Rokter" are good songs for any WASP fans out there. The last 4 tracks are decent rock songs that to me are back-track 'b-side'-ish songs that are good for a album listen through but don't make it onto my favorite playlists.
The main song on this album is "Chainsaw Charlie (Murders In The New Morgue)". It is one of the most vicious and uncouth and down right meanest sounding songs made in the 90's. Again, a song that contains awesome guitar work AND chainsaws? There is nothing more to say about the song's overtones of the recording industry's problems. This song is definately on my "Meanest Baddest Song Playlist" on my phone. It is perfect and ruthless just like a metal song should be!!!!!!!
