Rosanne Cash, the daughter of Johnny Cash has a legacy of material dating back to the late 70's but also contains material recorded over 30 years later. She has a legacy of material that is part Nashville friendly (Seven Year Ache) to classic country, (Sea of Heartbreak) with Bruce Springsteen!!!. She also had a very listenable fun country hit with a song her dad sang. (Flat Top Boogie). The old old folk favourite, 500 Miles is beautiful and may wrench a tear. This is a very fine collection that changes styles so often and yet is so good with whatever style she delves into. The album is aptly named...Essential.
