The problem with Y-100 Sonic Sessions Volume 2 is not that the music is bad--it's that it suffers from Godfather III syndrome. In other words, it's trying to follow up a previous release that was legendary.
Volume II certainly has its jewels, such as tracks by Ben Folds and Fiona Apple, but it just doesn't have the off-the-beaten-path diamonds from Volume I. However, this Sonic Sessions Volume 2 is no doubt going to be a big hit with college kids and girls from Europe to the US, thanks to the late night hookup hit, "Closing Time" by Semisonic.
In short, this album is worth the download to have a few bigtime hits in your collection (Smash Mouth and Barenaked Ladies) as well as owning a few obscure track from Fuel and Duncan Sheik. Give it a shot. It's worth making room in your music player.
