Zaubererbruder: Der Krabat-liederzyklusby ASP

The "Krabat Liederzyklus", released in 2008, is the first real folk album in the band's history. The album is a complete work that has been written over many years. It is based on the Sorbian folk tale of "Krabat", but it is not a 1:1 setting of the literary work. And this is ASP more than just successful! But also musically ASP manage to create a harmonious symbiosis between the theme of Krabat and a suitable instrumentation. Slow parts alternate with louder ones, and again and again one has the feeling that all this is in a meaningful and comprehensible connection with the saga, or even the personal interpretation of ASP. Hard and groovy guitar riffs are less common here, but instead a varied mixture of folk, medieval and gothic rock dominates, perfectly transporting the dark atmosphere of the events around the mill in Schwarzkollm. Again and again you can enjoy acoustic moments and also the female guest vocals of Lisa Pawelke in the frame of "Mein Herz erkennt dich immer" provide an almost fairy tale atmosphere.

And so "Zaubererbruder: Der Krabat-Liederzyklus" is not only a joyful event for ASP fans, but basically for all lovers of folk, medieval, and dark music.
