Wow can I just say how much I love the peppers! This is a musical group that has wowwd me through the ages. The first song I fell in love with was Under the bridge. Give it away is another favorite, the new album has rain dance king and I love that one too. Red Hot Chili Peppers have spent the last two decades amongst the most popular bands in the world, and with good reason. The turning point for them probably was "Blood Sugar Sex Magik", the first album that brought them absolute mainstream appeal and an incredible amount of loyal fans. The Peppers have doen more than enough to deserve this, however, considering their fantastic musical achievements.
"Blood Sugar Sex Magik" definitely is no slouch. Odds are that you already know quite a few of the tracks on here, either through the radio or simply by virtue of music lovers playing them at every possible occasion. "The Power of Equality", "Give It Away", "Suck My Kiss" and above all "Under the Bridge" stand out as the highlights, but the whole album, which consists of a beefy 17 tracks, is filled from beginning to end with great songs. The vocals along with some really great guitar riffs bring every song to life, and the end result is a very energetic approach to rock and pop that you'll find yourself coming back to time and time again.
"Blood Sugar Sex Magik" is one of those albums you want to own if you want to have access to all the music that makes contemporary pop and rock tick. It's very much a recommended purchase.
