"Born In the U.S.A." is the seventh studio album by Bruce Springsteen (E Street Band) [Comprised of Bruce Springsteen on vocals and lead guitar, Roy Britton on piano and synthesizer, Clarence Clemons on saxophone and percussion, Danny Federici on organ, glockenspiel, and piano on "Born In the U.S.A.", Garry Tallent on bass, Steven Van Zandt on acoustic guitar and mandolin, and Max Weinberg on drums) and was released on June 4, 1984. It was the best selling album of 1985 in the United States, selling over 15 million copies and tied a record of seven Top 10 singles. The seven singles were "Dancing In the Dark", "Cover Me", "Born In the U.S.A." (275th best song of all time according to Rolling Stone Magazine), "I'm on Fire", "Glory Days", "I'm Goin' Down", and "My Hometown" in that order. Rolling Stone Magazine ranked "Born In the U.S.A." the 86th greatest album of all time.
"Born In the U.S.A." was a radio-oriented pop rock album, even though Bruce had one of the better lineups in rock and roll, as the E Street Band even used synthesizers for the first time. Has to rank as his best album ever slightly ahead of his 1976 breakout album "Born to Run". Key tracks include "Born In the U.S.A.", "Cover Me", "I'm On Fire", "No Surrender", "Bobby Jean", "I'm Goin' Down", "Glory Days", "Dancing In the Dark", and "My Hometown". Honorable mentions include "Darlington County".
