I've always been a John Mayer fan, from the time that he first entered the scene with his poppy yet powerful single "No Such Thing" that captured the airwaves and an entire legion of new, eager fans. This album, however, was a brilliant departure from the radio-ready genre with which Mayer had formerly been cataloged, with a perfect reconciliation of his two greatest categorical inspirations: singer-songwriter solo artist and the blues. Songs like "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" and "Gravity" are notable as much for their searing, minimalist guitar solos as much as for their lyrics, composed of moving poeticisms and allusions, making it his most landmark album to date.
Continuum is the third John Mayer’s label studio album. It was released in the USA on the12th of September, 2006. It is a symbol of a change in musical style of John Mayer, and contains elements of blues and rhythm and blues more strongly than before. Mayer was really involved in the creation of the album together with Steve Jordan, fellow musician. This album appeared in the top ten of the charts in different countries. Continuum remained on the Billboard 200 in America during about a year, getting double platinum certification in the USA.
