Night Ranger are known for their solid melodic rock releases in the 80'3 and 90's. Their last three albums including this one have been weak and disappointing. One expects a band of such high caliber to deliver a solid rock album with the expected rock ballads if necessary. The mixing, playing, and sound are good, but the song compositions are weak. You can hear the guitars, chorus, and all the ingredients that they are known for, but nothing edible comes out. It is flat. Their creativity level has fallen well below par. I enjoyed very much their first 5 releases and some are outstanding. During that time they were flowing with creativity and delivering many memorable songs which have maintained them alive and that is probably what the fans want to hear. It is always nice to listen to new songs but only a few are ok in this release: "Somehow Someday", "Jamie", "Nothing Left of Yesterday", "Day and Night", and the second half of "Truth". It is obvious they are good muscians but need help with the song compositions.
