"First Taste" released in 1970, is the debut album from southern boogie band, Potliquor based in Louisiana.
Nice to see this album available finally. I had purchased Potliquor's "Levee Blues" LP way back in the 70's (the good old days). I didn't know about this LP at the time.
"First Taste" is filled with southern rock, blues and boogie that build the foundation for even better things to come on "Levee Blues". George Ratzlaff's voice is great, he will remain in my top ten of all time, snarling and howling the blues away.
The best tunes are Down the River, Riverboat and Driftin'. Check out the cool musical interpretation of Edgar Allen Poe's, The Raven.
Cheers - keep the faith.
