The closest thing to a new Slayer album (and a good one, I might add) you could realistically hope for. He may be 60 but Kerry King can still write riffs that rip redwoods in two. Bostaph may never eclipse the legend of Dave Lombardo on drums, but he gets to shine on a lot of tracks, and the production certainly makes him an integral part of the mix. Mark Osegueda from Dark Angel does a pretty good Tom Araya impression, borrowing a lot of his vocal phrasings. The only complaint I can make about this record is that a lot of lyrics are a little predictable (I will terminate, I will eradicate, annihilate etc.) and there isn't any kind of "into the heart of horror" song like Dead Skin Mask or Mandatory Suicide. Still, every song on this album is a banger, and every bridge builds to a killer chorus.
