The wait for Vildjharta's debut "Maastaden" is finally over and it delivers on all promises of being one of the heaviest and intricate releases of the year. Personally, I've been waiting for this album since the "Omnislash" EP came out over a year ago, and the growth done by Vildjharta in that time is simply stunning. Opting to go a more aggressive route than I had ever expected, and with a new vocalist in tow, Vildjharta brings the heavy like nobody else with tracks like "Dagger" and "Benblast". This album, "Maastaden", much like Uneven Structure's "Februus" is definitely best to listen to as a complete album as it tells a story, and therefore I have to highly recommend purchasing the whole album and savoring it! Vildjharta are now solidified as the new greats of the djent genre alongside Periphery and TesseracT. Get this!
