Jim Gaffigan is a great comedian. He's had several standup albums and a tv series, and has yet to have a stinker. He's known for his self-referential fat jokes, having humor that is very clean...no foul language, no really dirty humor...and, of course, that voice of the ever-offended audience member. If you've heard him, you know what I'm talking about...he gets a high-pitched, almost whisper of a voice that responds to a lot of his own jokes with a sort of hyper-offended tone. In his first album, this voice was used in way too much of the act, but here he has found a good mix. You can tell the progression of his material by how many kids he has on each album...here it's four, he does get up to five!
You won't find his famous Hot Pockets routine here, but there is plenty of good material. If you like Jim, get the album; if you aren't sure, this is really a perfect entry point to his material.
