Wow. It's hard to believe I grew up with most of these songs without realizing it. Growing up, I only associated Nena with "99 Red Balloons" and didn't even realize the meaning behind the song. Now, decades later, I'm getting a fresh look on her music. The revamped version of "99 Luftballons" is okay, but don't expect the same beat of the original version. The original version of "99 Luftballons" is included on the second CD in a live performance, so that is cool. Listening to the CD, I feel the song selection was pretty good. Most of the songs are upbeat. I think the "Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime" duet with Kim Wilde is pretty good. This is one of several duets / collaborations that is on the CD. I find all of them enjoyable. I find it interesting to hear the songs now with an understanding of the meanings placed behind the lyrics. It makes the songs that much better. I would highly recommend this CD, especially if you can get the second CD which has an additional six songs on it:
1. Haus der drei Sonne
2. Tanz auf dem Vulkan
3. Dafur ist das leben zu kurz
4. Du kennst die Liebe nicht
5. 99 Luftballons (Original Live Version)
6. Carpe Diem
You shouldn't be disappointed with the purchase of "Nena Feat. Nena." It is a CD worthy of one's collection.
