Kendrick Lamar has progressed vastly since this release in 2011,with platinum selling album good kid m.A.A.d city (2012) and countless collaborations with top 10 artists like Drake and co. But in my opinion this is Kendrick in his top form. Capturing the essence of a broken, but powerful generation - the 2000'80's. He inspires the youth to write their own history instead of being a voiceless part of others' on Hiii Power. Proves his lyrical fitness on Rigamortis, assuring the Hip-Hop world that his bars are too heavy for basic rappers to carry. And speaks on everything from police abusing their authority, racism, drugs numbing the generation (spoken about on song, A.D.H.D) to his short comings and the good and evil he has experienced, seen and partaken in the city of Compton, Los Angeles.
