This is one of James Horner's masterpieces. The songs are lengthy, but that in some ways is great because it makes the album more fluid, much like a classical symphony. There are some really beautiful themes that can almost bring tears to your eyes, in addition to some exciting action music that seeps you off your feet. Even if you haven't seen or even heard of the film, this album stands by itself as a musical masterpiece. The song in the middle by Diana Ross is a pretty 80's style song that compliments the album since it incorporates some of James Horner's themes.
