This debut 1973 release by ex-Mahavishnu Orchestra drummer/composer Billy Cobham is a groundbreaking release!! Apparenty recorded in just a few days, Cobham and his core bandmates Jan Hammer, Lee Sklar and the late Tommy Bolin pound out stellar performances on this LP. "Red Baron", "Stratus" & "Quadrant 4" are all classics in jazz/rock/fusion circles, even up to this day! Other great musicians appearing here are Joe Farrell, Ron Carter, John Tropea, Jimmy Owens and Ray Baretto. This LP has been publicly acclaimed by musicians worldwide. Cobham made a solo career from this LP and also joined a few bands along the way like: Jack Bruce & friends, Jazz Is Dead, Bobby And The Midnites and Mahavishnu (reunion) I have to say it: BUY IT!!
