This Old Dogby Mac DeMarco

My favorite tracks on this album have to be "this old dog", "for the first time" and on the level". On the level has to be my favorite of those three though and it was the first track on the album that really grew on me and made me want to keep listening.

This album is one that really grown on me the more I have listened to it. Mac goes in a new direction on "this old dog" and leaves behind a lot of the lo-fi sounds that have so prevent on his previous albums. And that leads to this album feeling different from his previous work because it's intention is clarity. This also has some of macs best songwriting and I think this is because each part is much more distinct to the ear. I feel like more detail was put into this album than his previous albums. But given that those were still amazing it only means that this album shows him to be growing as a musician.
