Pink Floyd's Richard Wright (better known as Rick Wright)is a founding member of Pink Floyd. Along with Roger Waters, Nick Mason & Syd Barrett, Pink Floyd made it's debut in 1965. Over 20 years later, Rick's actual first solo LP is "Wet Dream". This could actually be the best of all solo projects from any Pink Floyd member. Keeping in the Floyd-vein, this record is submersed in deep textures of progressive & jazz. With Wright handling lead vocals, keyboards & Oberheim synthesizer, the rest of the band on the LP is: King Crimson's Mel Collins on saxophone/flute, Thin Lizzy's Snowy White on guitars, Larry Steele on bass guitar and Robin Trower's bandmate Reg Isadore on drums. The instrumental "Mediterranean C" opens things up with a Floyd-ish vibe very cool groove. "Summer Elegy" is very beautiful & supremely melodic. "Waves" features Mel Collins on some tremendous saxophone. Every song flows well and makes a great 'mood' record. Although some may think this LP sounds like out-takes from a Pink Floyd session, I beg to differ. This LP stands on it's own and being highly creative & reflective. Buy it!!!
