"You Are The Music..We're Just The Band" is Trapeze's 3rd LP. Following the success of the critically acclaimed "Medusa", the 3 piece band (Glenn Hughes vocals/bass guitar, Mel Galley- guitar, Dave Holland - drums) explore beyond their well versed hard rock territory. For me, this is their best LP. "What Is A Woman's Role" is a pure funk/R&B gem, with shades of Stevie Wonder all over it. "Keepin' Time" is a tremendous opener, highlighted by Holland's smoking drums. Galley & Hughes are quite a team locking in the instruments as a 'guitar/bass'rhythm section. What is the most extraordinary thing about this LP is Hughes voice. There is no one as good as this guy..can go from one style to the other effortlessly. This is seriously one of my my fav LP's of the early 1970's British rock scene. Buy it!!!
