"Netherlands" is Illinois born Dan Fogelberg's 4th LP and it is possibly his best! Returning back his initial producer Norbert Putnam (that produced his excellent debut "Home Free") Dan & Norbert deliver a masterpiece here, recorded at the famous Caribou Ranch. The album opener "Netherlands" is a fantastic orchestrated piece, very anthemish. Strongest tracks are the rocker "Love Gone By, the bossanova-ish "Give Me Some Time" (featuring flutist and future collaborator Tim Weisberg)and "False Faces". The second track "Once Upon A Time" is a vibrant song with lyrical suggestions of regret in a relationship. I believe this record gave us a picture of Dan's maturity as an artist. Brilliant! Buy it!
