Tracks
If you ever get the opportunity to see this live, it is highly recommended as some of the jokes are visual. However, as Broadway soundtracks or musical scores go, this is pretty spectacular just by itself. From the humour-laden lyrics of songs such as 'High Adventure' and 'Friend Like Me', to the beautiful strains of 'These Palace Walls', to the ballads of Aladdin such as 'Proud Of Your Boy', it is sensational. Although essentially based on a children's cartoon, this is something that just about anybody will be able to enjoy.
A particular bonus is the two tracks after the Finale where the actor who plays the genie argues that he doesn't get any ballads in a conversation with Alan Menken himself at which point he sings a 'genie ballad.'
The quality of the recording is also exceptional.
