Rick Derringer's "All American Boy" is his fantastic debut LP. Of course, Rick made his mark in the 1960's as the leader of The McCoys ("Hang On Sloopy") and in the 1970's as 2nd guitarist with Johnny Winter's band Johnny Winter And. He also played with Edgar Winter's White Trash as well. On this his solo debut, he mixes it up a bit. His song "Rock And Roll Hootchie Koo" on this LP became a million selling song, after already being coverd by Johnny Winter And. "Jump, Jump, Jump" & "Cheap Tequila" are great tracks as well. The 'sleeper on the LP is "Hold"; a fantastic ballad that deserves to be covered by another artist. I believe this is Rick's best solo outing.
