Following the lacklustre and critically panned album Britney Jean (2013), I had a lot of trepidation leading up to Glory's release in 2016. Britney teamed up with Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels - two of the most successful pop songwriters in recent years - for many of the songs featured on Glory and the result is a fantastic return to form for the singer. Glory opens with "Invitation", a glossy and ethereal sounding track which sets the tone for what's to come with tracks like "Make Me..." and "Just Luv Me" working from the same blueprint. Elsewhere, Britney might surprise listeners with her strong and clear vocals on tracks like the doo-wop inspired "Private Show" and "What You Need". This deluxe edition has 5 bonus tracks including the bizarre and trippy "If I'm Dancing" and "Coupure Électrique" - a sensual song with a booming bassline and French lyrics. Glory has a lot to offer and rewards listeners with tons of top quality pop throughout it's 17 tracks. I can't wait to see what comes next.
