With the 70's in full swing the Rolling Stones were taking on the world , Ready to be-The Worlds Greatest Rock and Roll Band- and they truly believed the hype , because they were! and with this album they proved it. They had guitar whiz Mick Taylor to lay down some memorable licks and riffs. Starting off Dancing With Mr.D, one of my all time favorites , takes you on a rock journey with the Devil himself which only Mick and the Boys could do. The songs- Coming Down Again-With Keith Richards on vocals proving he could sing also- and- 100 Years Ago- have Billy Preston on Keyboards doing a smash up job. Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker) is another tale of any big city with its crime and violence and what happens when you are on the streets , great song , also top40 hit. Then we have the best Ballad I have ever heard from the Stones- Angie- a bittersweet tale about Angie Bowie, David Bowies wife at the time it was also another big hit for the boys. Silver Train And Star, Star are the typical 70's rocking Stones style kind of a tongue cheek felling to the songs and great rocking songs. The song Winter has that sad Christmas feel to it where he was longing for his love and it has very sublime feel to it, even though it is not considered a Christmas tune I think it could pass as one. This album is every bit as good as Exile On Main Street and does a great effort doing so. I really love classic Stones and you don't get more classic than this one. A great from one of the truly great legends of our time , please get it and experience it for yourself, I promise you, you wont be disappointed.
