Loaded with a bunch of coded allusions to pop culture the lyrics are trying too hard to be clever. Has Taylor gone dark? Probably not. But the context of the song is the petty sort of back and forth this pop diva is known for. Regardless of your views on Taylor and her dramas (that she keeps dropping song lyrics about) it's still a fun song and totally worth the listen.
