Not a typical soundtrack, of course. Most people know about Month Python and the Holy Grail, but they did an equally funny film called "Life of Brian". This one is about the boy who was born in the stable next to Jesus. He followed a sort of parallel life. He was declared a Messiah by a mob, sold otter's noses at a Roman gladiator show, briefly rode in a spaceship and was eventually crucified mostly by accident, as his mother yelled at him. You know, the usual.
I can't begin to do the film justice, but this soundtrack can. It's not so much a musical soundtrack, except for Brian's Song and, of course, "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life". Most of this album is bits from this highly quotable film. Python is made up of five highly intelligent, creative and funny men, and translates well into audio tracks. You don't need the visuals to get the joke begins Brian writing "Romans Go Home", then being caught and grammatically corrected by a Centurian soldier. Or the stoning scene, where a group of women pretend to be men in order to take part in the stoning, which of course goes very much awry.
This is a great Python album, whether you've seen the film or not. If you haven't, this will make you want to see it. There are so many quotable lines, it really gives Holy Grail a run for it's money. This is absolutely worth every penny, and after just one listen, you'll be wanting to donate an extra half a dinari to the first ex-leper that skips by.
