"Quiet is the new loud" is the debut album from Norwegian folk duo Kings of convenience. It features a soothing blend of vocal harmonies, together with acoustic and nylon stringed guitars complementing each other throughout, and occasional strings & piano.

The album also features the single "Toxic girl" which was used in the film "Shallow Hal;"
however the album version is not backed by a strings arrangement unlike the single. Nevertheless, a lovely mellow album.
