I swear the Queens sprinkle fairy dust on everything they touch. I'm not sure this *quite* measures up to Songs for the Deaf or Like Clockwork but that doesn't mean it's bad. First you have Feel Good Hit of the Summer. It's hard not to like this drug anthem complete with a killer solo, though in my opinion it should have been placed later in the album. Then comes Lost Art of Keeping a Secret. It's a very poppy song, and I'm surprised this isn't more popular. After that comes Leg of Lamb, which is pretty meh at least for me. Maybe it'll grow on me. After that is Auto Pilot another very catchy song. Surprised this wasn't a single. Successing that is Better Living Through Chemistry. I guess I feel the same way about this as I do about Leg of Lamb. Then comes Monsters in the Parasol, a simple but rocking tune that sums up QOTSA's early days. Then is Quick and to the Pointless, my second favorite song on the album. At first listen you may hate this but keep listening and it will grow on you. Then is In the Fade, my favorite song on this album. Everything about this song is just insanely awesome, from the dramatic verse to the simple but sweet beat, to the baseline. That is seriously one of the best baselines I have ever heard. The FGHotS is good I guess. Then is the highly explicit Tension Head. Like QattP it took a few listens for me to like this but now I really really do. The Lightning Song, an unneeded interlude goes into I Think I Lost My Headache, the perfect track to end this masterpiece.
