Mumford and Sons have had great year this year - thanks too this album. The music is catchy and well written, and the vocal performance within are stunning. This is one of my favourite albums off all time, and I highly recommend it. The music is somewhat folk, and unlike mainstream music today - but that's what makes it so great. The songs are all great and you never get tired off listening to them. I highly recommend this album to anyone looking for something a little different.
The song "Sigh No More" itself originally sounded a bit like Fleet Foxes to me, but there is no doubt that Mumford and Sons have come up with a quality album that is truly a complete original. From the bluegrass-like banjo sound of "The Cave" to the flawless harmonies demonstrated throughout the album, most specifically in tracks "Dust Bowl Dance" and "Sigh No More," Mumford and Sons repeatedly demonstrates true musical talent, as well as originality of lyrics and unique instrumental melodies. This album is definitely worth buying, even if for no other reason than its refreshingly pure quality.
This is easily one of my favourite folk albums of all time. Its a huge testament to the band as it is their first album and it is brilliant. This album is definitely one that must be owned by any music lover, (the most famous of the tracks being 'The Cave', 'Little Lion Man' & Roll Away Your Stone') grab your copy now for a fantastic musical experience!
Mumford and Sons' Sigh No More, is worthy to be put at the top of any music chart and they would be if they were a bit more well known. This album features rhythmic guitar series and very well written lyrics with vocalization that will soothe and also pull you into each song over and over again. This album would be a great grab for anyone who loves great music.
I first heard this album only in January this year and haven't stopped listening to it since. The songs are all fantastic, with my favourites being After the Storm and Roll Away Your Stone. I love these guys lyrics and the uniqueness of their sound. Keeping my eyes peeled for tour dates from them!
A fantastic debut, that should really see the careers of the 4 Mumford & Sons' boys go sky high. It really is hard to believe that this is their first ever album! A quality folk album that does that little bit extra. Buy this. You won't regret it.
