Let me start out by saying that Korn,in my opinion,is one of the greatest bands ever. Not only is the band so original and and very innovative, but they are also a very extremely important band in the hard rock scene. They actually were one of the first to create the genre known as Nu Metal. This album is and always be absolutely amazing in my eyes and well to my ears I should also add. It actually was, in essence, a return to the roots of the bands sound, which included a more raw, gritty, hardcore at times type of nature than that of which has existed on the last couple albums that they have put out (which were still also great sounding albums but that's another story actually).
There are heavy, angry, meaningful, and intense songs which remind one of the albums KoRn has put out in the past. These songs include "Right Now," "Break Some Off," "When Will This End," and "Let's Do This Now," and there are the melodic but still heavy songs which reminds one of Issues and Untouchables (and even somewhat of the album Follow The Leader to a cetain extent) such as "I'm Done," "Everything I've Known," and "Did My Time." They even did a remake of one of the old songs "Alive" which was featured on the bands 1993 demo tape. Until this album hit stores in November of 2003, only the hardcore Korn fans already knew about the songs. It really was a special treat for the true fans. Although, thematically and musically, this album takes a trip down memory lane, nevertheless, it does explore a whole new territory and has a very fresh feel about it. One thing's for sure. Korn are an extremely diverse band in different ways like musically and lyrically, and also they are definitely innovators. While many of the terrible and cheap imitations of them continue to fall off the radar, KoRn will forever remain at the top of them all because they dare to experiment, develop, grow, and mature as well and they will continually evolve. Their sights are always on the music and their fans, and it definitely shows for sure. I could not be more happy with Take A Look In The Mirror. In my personal opinion, although this is can be an arguable statement, it maybe, just MAYBE,very possible that Take A Look In The Mirror is KoRn's heaviest record to date and with that being said I highly recommend this album. This album get's a five stars from me.

This is a really good album from an amazing band. I really enjoy listening to this album right here. It's heavy and sounds like the lead singer must have got out a lot of anger that was stuck in him based on the lyrics to some of these songs."Right Now" is a song for example. There is no other band that can describe how I feel like they can. For example the song "Did My Time" is my favorite song on here because of the lyrics. I can relate to that song there for sure. "I'm done" is another great one.It talks about how the lead singer is done with being there for others because he has his own pain to deal with and he does not want to feel any extra pain from hearing about stories from other people.Songs like these are good to listen to. "Right Now" might not be so good but songs like "Did My Time" and "I'm Done" are some good songs to listen to.Anyways. Great album.Amazing band. FIVE stars from me.
Didn't really like this one a lot at first. Then I started actually listening to the lyrics and following along with them and then I started liking it a lot more than I did before. This is actually a great album. I really like a lot of the songs on here. I love Korn and they did a great job on this album here. Amazing band. Four stars from me!
