Something about groups that are family based that always grab my attention. The Band Perry is composed of the Perry's (two brothers and their sister). They have come up with a marvelous first outing and show a great deal of promise. The radio singles, "You Lie," "Hip to My Heart," "All Your Life," and the gripping "If I Die Young" are all here and other notable tracks include, "Independence" and "Postcards from Paris."

This is a great album, great hits, mainstream and soft but it doenst matter because the music catches you. My wife has this on her Ipod shuffle on a consistet basis. She loves the sounds, although the track do not relay to her present, she says that album would have helped her when she was younger. Women get this album, males try it out. Its good

I don't usually pay much attention to country music, but after hearing "If I Die Young" a couple of times, how could I not take notice of this album? The Band Perry -- not to be confused with indie rock sensation Christina Perri or pop star Katy Perry -- is comprised of lead singer Kimberly Perry and her two brothers, Reid and Neil Perry. IMO they made a wonderful debut on the music scene with this self-titled album.

"If I Die Young" is one of the most beautiful, original songs of recent release I can think of, and maybe my favorite pop/country crossover ever. The first time I heard it I wasn't paying attention to the lyrics and didn't realize how great it is, the lyrics are brilliant and heartbreaking.

"Miss You Being Gone" is classic country attitude at its best: "I miss you like drama queens and cat fights and braces on prom night!" Love it lol.

So far "If I Die Young" and "All Your Life" are the only two tracks from this album I've downloaded. But that might change soon thanks to Mp3caprice's awesome prices! "All Your Life" is a great song that Kimberly totally sells with her amazing, powerful voice. "Walk Me Down the Middle" will probably be the next one I get, it is a sweet, slower love song. "Lasso" is also a beautiful long song.

"The Band Perry" is a very nice listen overall, with one or two oustanding tracks and some solid entries to the country music genre including "You Lie," "Hip To My Heart," and "Quittin' You." Four (4.5 if it was available) stars.

Not a country fan, but The Band Perry hit it out of the park with "The Band Perry." Though the title could use improvement and creativity, the guts of it-each of the twelve songs-has a unique and pretty tone. My favorite song is, wothout a doubt, "If I Die Young." With its haunting melody, touching lyrics, and soft melody, it's hard not to love the song. Another of my favorites is, "Independence," simply for it's catchy tune and fun lyrics. "Hip To My Heart" and "You Lie" are also great. I can hardly choose which I like best! Beautiful lyrics, wonderful music-I especially like the use of piano and violin-, and a wonderful voice to match.
