I was expecting this album to be much better. This is the third release with lead singer Todd LaTorre. After their comeback with the release of their very good self titled album six years ago, their releases have been weakening. Queensryche hit the pinnacle of their career during the late 80's and early 90's. Their concept album masterpiece"Operation Mindcrime", and their excellent "Empire" placed them as a major headlining band. After that they released two good records and then they went downhill with a total loss for musical composition. It took them too long to find a new singer and try to regain their popularity. This 2019 release, "The Veredict" lacks good songs. The only two songs that stand out are Dark Reverie and Man The Machine. Many songs sound like old Queensryche dating to the "Rage For Order" era. This will mainly appeal to the die hard fans. I gave this release two stars since it has some interesting bonus material. Only two original members remain and maybe its time for them to just play the fan favorite tunes.and not find themselves with a lack of creativity.
