A chilling, creepy masterpiece. The genre-defining horror movie from 2003, "28 Days Later", was a major success for Danny Boyle, and one of the biggest reasons it's such an amazing film is thanks to the magnificent soundtrack.

A perfect mix, including some tense, upbeat music which defined the action scenes of the movie ("The Tunnel" and "Tower Block" are brilliant), as well as some very sad hymns ("Taxi", "Abide With Me") and the incredible songs like the slowly built up "In The House - In a Heartbeat", a masterful song which slower get louder and more powerful before reaching an astonishing climax. It also includes some lighter tracks like Grandaddy's "A.M. 180" or "Red Dresses".

John Murphy is underrated as a composer and his pieces are full of depth and insight. He is incredible and one of the best in his field.

Of course I cannot review the soundtrack to "28 Days Later" without mentioning "Godspeed You! Black Emperor" and their incredible 17-minute song "East Hastings". It served as an inspiration for the film and was also used in places and anyone who enjoys this soundtrack should also buy their song. Get this soundtrack, it's definitely worth it!

The soundtrack to one of the most critically acclaimed films of its genre. The album features tense and dramatic pieces, as well as light euphoric tracks, upbeat rock influences and haunting spoken word. Follow the exhilarating journey of the film, the highs, the lows, tense build-ups, dramatic climaxes and uplifting triumphs, through the album.

Intelligently and thoughtfully composed, a must for fans of the film. Perhaps one of the most universally praised tracks featured on the album is "In the House - In a Heartbeat" which featured during the climactic confrontation towards the end of the film, and heavily in it's sequel "28 Weeks Later".
