Lifehouse returns with a new single "Between The Raindrops". "Between the Raindrops" is the first release off of their sixth album entitled, "Almeria", which was released December 11, 2012. The sound is undeniably that which we have come to expect from the group. There is consistency in the lead vocals of Jason Wade and the combination of pain and joy in the lyrics. The emphasis is on the fulfillment of two walking together in relationship even though there is pain coming down all around. The song deviates a little in that is has somewhat of a techno beat to it and it is upbeat. There is also the addition of the vocals of Natasha Bedingfield. It is a nice combination and Bedingfield's pop, rhythm and blues, and soul influences bare down on the track. It is a surprising duo, but undoubtedly melds together well. It is intriguing enough of a song to investigate the rest of "Almeria". Lifehouse has demonstrated longevity in the rock/pop genre over the past decade and the current record bodes well for their sustainability. I give the group 4 Stars for effectively stretching the bounds while maintaining their continuity.
