Daggersby Ex Cops

I'm giving this 5 stars just for black soap. I can't downgrade the whole album to a four and cause anyone to miss that tune. It's epic! There's a lot of winks and nods to other influences mostly on the other tracks and it's nice - BUT - I really hope they base a future album off of the style sound and vibe carved out by whatever energy went into the first track black soap. It feels like they really found 'their voice' on that one. A style direction that will carve them out a truely unique spot amongst the billions of electronica! Just such a kick ass song. I'm not saying copy it! I'm saying it has a powerful thick layering and just substantial overall sound that is very special that would be considered a blessed representation of what makes these artists gel into something I would really hear much more of! It just pulls off this simultaneously modern and retro recipe into a heavy freight train of a stark social commentary. I just want to get on and go!
