Togetherby Jonathan & Charlotte

The question that occurred to me when I bought this album, from yet another set of talent show contestants, was would they have enough material for a complete album and are they just a novelty act? The unlikely pair were, I am sure, more popular as a direct result of their unlikely pairing, however when I settled down to listen to this in detail I was very pleasantly surprised. The voices blend very well and the power of Jonathan's voice is nicely balanced by the sweet tones of Charlotte's voice. What was slightly irritating was that the producer of this album had seemed to insist that everything was sung in Italian, presumably to give the album content some sort of operatic credibility. It has to be said that this was a failure- mocking up 'Everybody Hurts' and 'Rule the World' as opera is just confusing, unnecessary and saccharin. Having said all of this, the album was a great piece of entertainment, although I am not sure of the longevity of this couple.
