Every Teardrop Is A Waterfallby Coldplay

When it comes to first impressions Coldplay have never disappointed, always striding from strength to strength. Tracks such as Yellow, In My Place and Viva La Vida winning awards and reaching number one in many charts. 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' then has so much to live up to, the previous album (Viva La Vida or Death and All of His Friends) had a totally revamped sound which went down a treat with many of their fans. The style for the Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall E.P has once again totally changed, the new single features sounds reminiscent or X&Y yet still retains some of the more modern sound or Viva La Vida. The dance influences are very evident with the track beginning with synth sounds - perhaps due to the fact that Brian Eno has been working closely with them. The next track of the album entitled 'Major Minus' is a lot closer to the previous album with seemingly darker lyrics woven into the electro twisted guitar riff. The last track follows suit again but with a slower sound and less of an electro sound. The vocals of Will Champion also seem to be featured in a more predominant way.

All in all it seems Coldplay have evolved their style for the forthcoming new album, to the hardcore 'Parachutes & A Rush of Blood to the Head' fans this may be a catastrophe but personally I am willing to give the new style a chance to win me over!
